Windshield protection film

Windshield protection film that stops stone chips

Three windshield films built on different protection logics — impact absorption, surface hardness, or both. Every one transmits over 90% of light and stays under 1% haze, so the glass looks untouched.

Why a windshield needs film at all

A modern windshield is not a sheet of glass. It carries the rain sensor, the heating element and the ADAS camera that keeps lane assist honest. Replacing it means recalibrating those systems, and on many models the original part is weeks away.

A stone thrown up by the car in front arrives with enough energy to start a crack in that glass. Windshield protection film puts a sacrificial layer in the way: the film absorbs and spreads the impact instead of letting the glass take it in one point.

The second, slower problem is the wipers. Years of blade travel leave micro-scratches that scatter oncoming headlights at night. A hard-coated film takes that abrasion on itself and is replaced when it is worn — the glass underneath is not.

01 Impact

SkyPlex PPF

Effortless installation. Maximum protection.

The thickest of the three, built around a highly elastic shape-memory layer that absorbs and disperses stone-chip impact. Conforms to curved glass without thermoforming and resists the yellowing that affects traditional TPU films.

  • Self-healing top coat recovers surface marks
  • Elongation at break above 100%
  • Water repellency for clear visibility in rain

02 Surface

SkyPlex PET

Where strength meets clarity.

A PET substrate finished with advanced hard coating. The thinnest and clearest option, with the best resistance to wiper friction and prolonged UV exposure of the three.

  • Haze below 0.3% — effectively invisible
  • Abrasion resistance below 0.2% haze after testing
  • Passes accelerated QUV weathering

03 Composite

SkyPlex Hybrid

Hybrid strength, crystal vision.

A composite base that combines polymer impact absorption with PET rigidity — the option where you no longer choose between installation flexibility and surface durability.

  • Chemical, thermal and humidity resistance verified to ISO
  • Reinforced peel adhesion above 450 gf/inch
  • Improved flexibility for complex curvature

Frequently asked

Does windshield film distort the view or affect night driving?

No. All three films transmit over 90% of light with haze below 1%, and PET stays below 0.3%. There is no optical distortion, and the water-repellent surface improves visibility in rain.

Which of the three should an installer stock first?

PPF if the local roads throw gravel and customers come in with chipped glass. PET if the demand is about keeping glass clear and scratch-free. Hybrid covers both and is the safest single choice for a mixed customer base.

Is heat forming required for installation?

Not for SkyPlex PPF — it conforms to curved glass without thermoforming. PET and Hybrid are engineered with improved flexibility for installation on curvature.

Will the film yellow over time?

Yellowing index stays below 2 per ASTM D 1925 with UV rejection above 95%. PET additionally passes accelerated QUV weathering per KS M ISO 4892-3.

How does the film come off?

Cleanly, with no adhesive residue on the glass.
