Built for the surface, not the impact
Where PPF answers the stone, PET answers everything that touches the glass afterwards — wiper blades, brushes, grit dragged across the surface. The hard coating on top of the PET substrate is the hardest surface in the SkyPlex range, and abrasion testing leaves it below 0.2% haze.
That hardness comes with the best optics of the three films. Haze stays under 0.3% and light transmission above 91%, which in practice means a customer cannot tell the film is there.
UV is the other long game. Beyond the standard yellowing index, PET is put through accelerated QUV weathering to KS M ISO 4892-3, plus chemical, thermal and humidity resistance protocols.

SkyPlex PET questions
Is PET thin enough to follow windshield curvature?
Yes. At around 120 μm it is engineered with improved flexibility specifically so it can be applied on curved glass without distortion.
Why choose PET over PPF?
When the main complaint is scratched, hazy glass rather than stone chips. PET has the hardest surface and the best optics; PPF has the thicker impact layer.
How does it behave after a summer in strong sun?
It is tested for exactly that — accelerated QUV weathering to KS M ISO 4892-3 keeps the yellowing index below 2.
Does the higher peel strength make removal harder?
Peel strength above 750 gf/inch means it stays put in service. It still removes cleanly without adhesive residue.
